ISO 12782-3:2012 specifies the determination of the content of "reactive" aluminium in the form of amorphous aluminium oxides and hydroxides in soil and other materials by extraction with ammonium oxalate/oxalic acid. ISO 12782-3:2012 - Soil quality: Parameters for geochemical modelling of leaching and speciation - Part 3 specifies a laboratory method to determine the content of “reactive” aluminium (amorphous aluminium oxides and hydroxides) in soils and other materials (including waste). The method uses extraction with ammonium oxalate / oxalic acid and produces data suitable as input for geochemical modelling of leaching, speciation, mobility and bioavailability of constituents.
