ISO 1413:2016 specifies the minimum requirements for shock-resistant wrist watches and describes the corresponding test method. It is based on the simulation of the shock received by a wrist watch while falling from a height of 1 m onto a horizontal wooden floor (an equivalent surface is described in B.1.1).

Overview
ISO 1413:2016 - Horology - Shock‑resistant wrist watches defines minimum requirements and a standardized test method to verify the shock resistance of wrist watches. The tests simulate shocks equivalent to a watch falling from a height of 1 m onto a horizontal wooden floor (or an equivalent surface). This third edition updates the procedure to include three specified shocks on the watch head and two free‑fall shocks on the complete watch (including bracelet).
