ISO 14554-1:2013

Overview

ISO 14554-1:2013 - Quality requirements for welding - Resistance welding of metallic materials - Part 1: Comprehensive quality requirements - defines a flexible, comprehensive framework for demonstrating a manufacturer’s or sub‑contractor’s capability to produce resistance‑welded constructions that meet specified quality requirements. It applies to welding in production plants and on site, is independent of the type of welded construction, and may be adopted in full or selectively adjusted to the contract or application standard.

ISO 14554-1:2013 supports four application cases:

• Case 1: where the supplier has an ISO 9001 quality system
• Case 2: where a different quality system is used
• Case 3: guidance for developing a quality system
• Case 4: references in application standards or contracts (note: ISO 14554-2 is often more appropriate here)
