This standard specifies the requirements and test methods for solid flat extruded sheets of impact-modified polystyrene (PS-I1) without fillers and reinforcing materials. This standard applies only to thickness 0,25 mm to 20,0 mm in accordance with clause 3. This standard also applies to PS-I sheet in roll form.

Overview
ISO 14615:1997 - Adhesives - Durability of structural adhesive joints - Exposure to humidity and temperature under load - defines a laboratory test method to evaluate the long-term performance of structural and semi-structural adhesive bonds when exposed simultaneously to elevated temperature, high humidity and static load. The method is particularly suitable for bonded joints in metal, composite and plastic adherends and is intended to simulate hot/humid service conditions to determine time to failure of adhesive joints.

- Common configurations: lap-shear (preferred) and T-joint specimens.

- Adherend thickness normally 0.6 mm to 3 mm.
- Bondline thickness controlled by spacers (glass spheres/wires); surface preparation per ISO 4588 or ISO 13895.
- Procedure
- Calibrate springs; assemble 3–6 specimens per loading tube; load using calibrated spring spacing; monitor tubes daily and replace failed specimens with solid strips until at least three joints have failed.
- Record time to failure for each specimen and observe failure patterns per ISO 10365.
- Results & reporting
- Report individual and/or mean times to failure, applied load, specimen details, bond thickness, temperature cycle, failure modes, dates and all identifying information.
