This document addresses experimental add-on components to a space system under development and specifies the procedures for preparing and carrying out space experiments (SEs), and analysis and processing of the findings. It is applicable to both manned and unmanned space systems. It can be tailored to the specific needs of different kinds of SEs.

Overview
ISO 14619:2023 - Space systems - Space experiments - General requirements defines standardized procedures and organizational rules for planning, executing and reporting . Applicable to both , the standard covers experimental add-on components to an operational or in-development space system and the full SE lifecycle: proposal, development, integration, execution, data analysis and final reporting. The second edition updates terms, roles and responsibilities and adds guidance on long‑term sustainability of the space environment.
