This document specifies the requirements for hot-rolled twin-roll cast steel sheet of commercial quality. The product is intended for applications where the presence of oxide or scale or normal surface imperfections disclosed after removal of oxide or scale are not objectionable. It is not suitable for applications where the surface is of prime importance. This document does not cover steel sheet that is subjected to subsequent rolling.
Abstract
Overview
ISO 15177:2021 specifies requirements for hot-rolled twin-roll cast steel sheet of commercial quality. The standard covers material dimensions, chemical and mechanical requirements, testing, surface condition and manufacturing/inspection provisions for sheets produced by the twin‑roll casting process with minimal hot rolling. It is intended for applications where oxide/scale or normal surface imperfections are acceptable and is explicitly not for use where surface finish is of prime importance. The standard does not apply to sheets that are subsequently rolled.
