ISO 15614-2:2005 specifies how a preliminary welding procedure specification is qualified by welding procedure tests. It applies to the arc welding of wrought and cast aluminium and its alloys. It does not apply to finishing welding of aluminium castings, which is dealt with by ISO 15614-4.

ISO 15614-2:2005 - Specification and qualification of welding procedures for metallic materials - Part 2: Arc welding of aluminium and its alloys - defines how a preliminary welding procedure specification (pWPS) is qualified by welding procedure tests. It applies to the arc welding of wrought and cast aluminium and aluminium alloys, and covers the execution, examination and documentation of welding procedure tests for common arc processes (MIG, TIG and plasma). It does not cover finishing welding of aluminium castings (see Part 4).
