This document specifies chemical and mechanical test methods and measurement methods of geometrical characteristics applicable to reinforcing bars, rods and wire for concrete. This document does not cover the sampling conditions that are dealt with in the product standards. A list of options for agreement between the parties involved is provided in Annex A.

Overview
ISO 15630-1:2019 - "Steel for the reinforcement and prestressing of concrete - Test methods - Part 1: Reinforcing bars, rods and wire" is the ISO test-methods standard for verifying the chemical, mechanical and geometric characteristics of steel used as reinforcement in concrete. This third edition (2019) updates and replaces the 2010 edition. The standard defines test pieces, equipment and procedures for laboratory verification of reinforcing bars, rods and wire. Note: sampling conditions are excluded (these are specified in product standards), and Annex A provides a list of options for agreement between parties.
