ISO 16198:2015 specifies the plant-based test, called biotest, which enables estimation of the environmental bioavailability of trace elements to plants either basically as the concentration in shoots and roots or in a more integrative way as the net uptake flux in plants.
Abstract
Overview
ISO 16198:2015 defines a standardized plant-based test (biotest) to assess the . The method estimates bioavailability either as or as a more integrative . The procedure combines a pre-growth phase in hydroponics with a subsequent exposure phase where plants grow in contact with soil or soil materials under oxic conditions. The standard is intended for soils, amended soils and soil materials, and is validated for a set of key trace elements.
