Overview
ISO 16537:2012 - Thermal insulating products for building applications - Determination of shear behaviour defines the equipment, specimen preparation and test procedures to measure the shear behaviour of thermal insulation products used in buildings. The standard specifies how to apply two opposite, parallel forces to a test specimen (by convention called a “shear” test) and to record force–displacement data to derive shear strength and shear modulus. Note: the method measures the effects of applied parallel forces rather than a mathematically pure shear state.
