ISO 18453:2004 specifies a method to provide users with a reliable mathematical relationship between water content and water dew point in natural gas when one of the two is known. The calculation method, developed by GERG; is applicable to both the calculation of the water content and the water dew point. ISO 18453:2004 gives the uncertainty for the correlation but makes no attempt to quantify the measurement uncertainties.

ISO 18453:2004 - Natural gas: Correlation between water content and water dew point defines a reliable, composition-dependent calculation method to convert between water content (mass of water per unit gas volume) and the water dew point of natural gas. Developed by GERG and standardized by ISO/TC 193, the method is reciprocal (works both ways), is based on the Peng–Robinson equation of state, and is intended primarily for sales gas and custody-transfer applications. The standard provides the validated working ranges and the uncertainty of the correlation but does not quantify measurement uncertainties.
