Abstract
Overview
ISO 18555:2016 specifies a laboratory method to determine the thermal conductivity of thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) made of a metallic bond coat (BC) and a ceramic top coat (TC). Measurements are taken . The standard uses pulse‑heating (“flash”) techniques and multi‑layer analytical models to derive thermal conductivity from measured thermal diffusivity, specific heat capacity and bulk density.
