ISO 19005-3:2012

Overview

ISO 19005-3:2012 defines PDF/A-3 - a profile of the Portable Document Format (PDF 1.7 as formalized in ISO 32000-1) - designed for long-term preservation of page-oriented electronic documents while also allowing arbitrary files to be embedded inside the PDF. The standard specifies constraints on PDF features so that the static visual appearance of a document can be preserved over time, and adds a controlled mechanism to include original source files, data sets or other attachments within a single archival object.
