Overview

ISO 19085-1:2021 - Woodworking machines - Safety - Part 1: Common requirements defines the general safety requirements and protective measures for woodworking machines intended for continuous production use. It covers machines that process solid wood and materials with similar physical characteristics using hand feed or integrated feed. The standard addresses hazards throughout the machine lifecycle - operation, adjustment, maintenance, transport, assembly, dismantling, disabling and scrapping - and is intended to be used alongside the machine-specific parts of the ISO 19085 series. It does not apply to machines for potentially explosive atmospheres or to machines manufactured before publication.
