ISO 19472-2:2022 - Machinery for forestry - Winches - Part 2: Traction aid winches defines dimensions, performance and safety requirements for traction aid winches used to assist supported forestry and earth‑moving machines when going uphill and downhill (pulling and controlled braking). The standard covers fixed, detachable and remote traction aid winch systems, their components, connections and communications, and requirements for assembling the winch with the supported machine. It excludes winches not using controlled rope force downhill and winches intended for skidding, crane hoisting, draglines, rope logging/yarding and similar specialized applications. Traction aid winches manufactured before the publication date are not covered.
