ISO 21809-11:2019

Overview

ISO 21809-11:2019 - Petroleum and natural gas industries - External coatings for buried or submerged pipelines - Part 11 - provides requirements for in-field application, coating repairs and rehabilitation of external coatings on buried pipelines. It covers assessment of new and existing coatings, removal of degraded coatings, surface preparation and on-site/in-situ application of external coatings. The standard applies to petroleum and natural gas pipeline systems (with or without cathodic protection) and allows work while pipelines remain operational. Note: field joint coatings and fully submerged pipeline coating applications are outside the scope.
