Overview
ISO 2534:2020 - "Road vehicles - Engine test code - Gross power" defines a standardized method for testing internal combustion engines used to propel road vehicles to determine gross power and related performance data. The standard covers both reciprocating (spark-ignition and compression-ignition) and rotary piston engines (excluding free-piston types). It is intended primarily for technical communication between engine manufacturers and vehicle manufacturers and requires that any advertised ratings clearly state they are gross power in accordance with clause 9.2.
