ISO 291:2008 sets out specifications relating to the conditioning and testing of all plastics and all types of test specimen at constant atmospheric conditions. Special atmospheres applicable to a particular test or material or simulating a particular climatic environment are not included in this International Standard.

Overview
ISO 291:2008 - "Plastics - Standard atmospheres for conditioning and testing" specifies preferred constant atmospheric conditions for the conditioning and testing of all plastics and all types of test specimens. The standard defines , conditioning and test atmospheres, conditioning procedures and minimum conditioning periods, and requirements for maintaining reproducible temperature and humidity. It excludes special or simulated climatic atmospheres that are specific to particular tests or materials.
