Overview

ISO 3302-1:2014 - Rubber - Tolerances for products - Part 1: Dimensional tolerances defines classes and values of dimensional tolerances for solid rubber products produced by moulding, extrusion and calendering. It also specifies the relevant test and measurement requirements needed to establish compliance. The standard is primarily intended for vulcanized rubber but can also apply to thermoplastic rubbers. It excludes precision toroidal sealing rings and calendared composite products (e.g., rubber-coated fabrics or topped/skim‑coated products).

• Test instruments and method notes: Acceptable instruments include micrometre dial gauges (specified foot pressures: 22 kPa ±5 kPa for hardness ≥35 IRHD; 10 kPa ±2 kPa for hardness <35 IRHD), optical measuring devices, fixed gauges, calipers and tape measures. All instruments must achieve errors within specified tolerances.
• Preferred numbers basis: Nominal dimensions and tolerances are based on ISO 3 preferred numbers (R5 and R10 series).
