This International Standard specifies the dimensions of mated tut splices on 8 mm motion-picture film petforated 8 mm Type S made with a transparent adhesive tape. The specifications herein apply to magnetic and photographic Sound films as well as to silent films intended only for projection.

ISO 3773:1983 establishes the standardized dimensions for tape splices on 8 mm Type S motion-picture film used in projection. Developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) through Technical Committee ISO/TC 36, Cinematography, this standard ensures consistency, reliability, and compatibility in splicing techniques for a variety of 8 mm Type S films-including magnetic and photographic sound films, as well as silent films.
