Abstract
Overview
ISO 4039-1:1998 is an international standard for pneumatic braking systems on road vehicles. It specifies the essential dimensions, material and surface requirements for metallic and thermoplastic pipes, male fittings and tapped holes with a facial sealing surface in the metric series. The standard applies to compressed-air braking systems operating below 2 MPa (20 bar) and is intended to ensure mechanical compatibility, sealing performance and corrosion resistance of threaded connections.
