ISO 4575:2007 specifies a method, using the Severs rheometer, for determining the apparent viscosity, at high shear, of poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) pastes prepared from PVC paste polymers and plasticizers. ISO 4575:2007 specifies a laboratory method for determining the apparent viscosity of poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) pastes at high shear using the Severs rheometer. The standard applies particularly to “standard pastes” prepared according to ISO 4612 (planetary-mixer method) or ISO 11468 (dissolver method). The procedure measures paste flow through a calibrated die under controlled pressure and temperature to derive shear rate and apparent viscosity values useful for quality control and material characterization.
