The method is applicable to phosphorus contents between 0,003 % (m/m) and 2 % (m/m) in natural iron ores, iron ore concentrates and agglomerates, including sinter products. The presence of arsenic, barium or titanium does not affect the result.
Abstract
Overview
ISO 4687-1:1992 specifies the molybdenum blue spectrophotometric method for determining the phosphorus content in iron ores. This International Standard is applicable to a range of materials including natural iron ores, iron ore concentrates, and agglomerates such as sinter products. The specified method quantifies phosphorus contents between 0.003% (m/m) and 2% (m/m). Importantly, the presence of elements like arsenic, barium, or titanium does not interfere with the results, ensuring reliable chemical analysis across diverse iron ore matrices.
