Abstract
Overview
ISO 4863:1984 specifies the information that users and manufacturers should exchange about (also called elastic couplings) to ensure clear communication for selection, installation and operation. The standard focuses on data requirements - such as performance, alignment and environmental conditions - rather than dimensional specifications. It does not apply to rigid flange or sleeve couplings, torsionally stiff couplings used solely for alignment (e.g., toothed or diaphragm types), or to slip couplings.
