Overview
ISO 5010:2019 - Earth-moving machinery - Wheeled machines - Steering requirements - specifies steering system tests and performance criteria for evaluating the steering capability of ride-on wheeled earth-moving machinery (as defined in ISO 6165:2012). The standard applies to machines equipped with wheels, one or more drums, or crawler wheel assemblies and addresses mechanical, ergonomic, maintenance, control-system and travelling-function hazards under intended use and reasonably foreseeable misuse. Functional safety of steering systems is not covered. ISO 5010:2019 replaces the 2007 edition and expands the scope to include drum and crawler wheel assemblies and machines with maximum speeds less than 20 km/h.
