ISO 5350-3:2007 specifies a procedure for the estimation of the visible dirt and shives by reflected light using the Equivalent Black Area (EBA) method in pulps. It is, in principle, applicable to all types of dry or wet pulp, manufactured in sheets or rolls, including recycled pulp.

Overview
ISO 5350-3:2007 specifies a standardized procedure for the visual estimation of visible using reflected light and the method. The method is applicable to all types of dry or wet pulp - sheeted or rolled, including recycled pulp - and reports contamination as the number of contraries per square metre and their total EBA (mm²/m²). The standard complements and (transmitted‑light methods) and (instrumental reflected‑light method).
