The standard covers four hose classes (Types A–D), expected operating temperatures (−10 °C to +60 °C), and key performance, dimensional and material criteria to ensure safe, reliable compressed‑air hose assemblies.

- Hydrolysis test for susceptible materials: 95% RH at 80 ± 2 °C for 500 h; post‑test tensile/elongation must remain >40% of original (Annex A)
