Specifies a frequency-weighting characteristic, designated G, for the determination of weighted sound pressure levels of sound or noise whose spectrum lies partly or wholly within the frequency band from 1 Hz to 20 Hz.
Abstract
Overview
ISO 7196:1995 - Acoustics - Frequency-weighting characteristic for infrasound measurements is an international standard developed by ISO for the measurement of infrasound. This standard specifies a unique frequency-weighting characteristic, designated G, intended for determining the weighted sound pressure levels of noise or sound with spectral content in the range of 1 Hz to 20 Hz. This area, known as infrasound, sits below conventional audio frequencies and is of increasing concern due to potential human response implications.
