Overview
ISO 7459:2004 defines standardized test methods for thermal shock resistance and thermal shock endurance of glass containers (flasks, jars, bottles). It specifies apparatus, sampling, and a step‑by‑step procedure for exposing empty glass containers to abrupt temperature changes to assess their ability to resist cracking or breaking. The standard excludes laboratory glassware and is intended for production and packaging glass containers.
