This document specifies the components, interface, technical requirements and test methods of the suction tube position monitor (STPM). It is applicable only to the installed components, functions or systems. This document covers the design, manufacture and modifications of the suction tube position monitor.

ISO 7613:2025 - Ships and marine technology - Hopper dredger - Suction tube position monitor (STPM) standardizes the design, components, interfaces, technical requirements and test methods for suction tube position monitors installed on hopper dredgers. It covers the installed system elements, functional and performance requirements, enclosure and power-supply criteria, and verification/test procedures (function, performance and enclosure tests).

- Planar position error: ±0.25 m in ship coordinates.
- Data recording: interval ≤2 s, storage for at least 24 h continuous recording, data replay available.

- Enclosure IP requirements per IEC 60529: IP68 for submersible items, IP56 for deck outdoor equipment, IP20 for console devices.
- Power: main and standby feeds; servers/workstations/switches on UPS with fail‑safe operation and at least 30 minutes autonomy.
