Applicable to all iron ore fines that are agglomerated by the sintering process. Figure 1 gives an example of sintering test equipment, Figure 2 the flowsheet of typical sinter test procedure. Annex A lists international standards specifying the relevant test methods.
Abstract
Overview
ISO 8263:1992 specifies a standardized method for the presentation of results from sintering tests on iron ore fines. Applicable to all iron ore fines agglomerated by sintering, the standard defines terminology, required test data, reporting formats (Schedules 1–6) and example equipment/flowsheets (Figures 1 and 2). Its primary aim is to ensure consistent, comparable exchange of sintering test results for commercial assessment, production control and research.
