Overview

ISO 834-5:2000 - Fire-resistance tests - Elements of building construction - Part 5 specifies procedures for determining the fire resistance of loadbearing horizontal separating elements (floors and roofs) when exposed to heating from the underside. The standard defines test equipment, specimen preparation, loading and restraint conditions, instrumentation and performance criteria used to obtain reliable fire-resistance ratings for horizontal structural separations. It is intended to be used together with ISO 834‑1 (general requirements) and, where appropriate, with ISO/TR 12470 for extended application analyses.
