ISO 8669-2:1996 - "Urine collection bags - Part 2: Requirements and test methods" specifies performance requirements and laboratory test methods for open-ended and closed urine collection bags, both body-worn and non-body-worn. It excludes urostomy bags, urimeters and bags intended specifically for paediatric use. This second edition consolidates and replaces earlier parts of ISO 8669 and is intended to support product design, manufacturing and conformity testing.

- Filling performance: Water must start flowing into the bag within 1 minute and the average filling rate must be at least 10 ml/s.
- General test conditions: Standard temperature for testing is 23 °C ± 2 °C. Annex A defines dimensional measurement methods.
