Abstract
What is BS 6200-3.10.2 – Ferrous metals about?
BS 6200-3.10.2 standard is a part of the BS 6200 series that discusses the determination of chromium in steel and cast iron using flame atomic absorption spectrometric for sampling and analysis of iron, steel and other ferrous metals. Ferrous metal is any metal that is primarily composed of iron and has magnetic properties. Ferrous metal is known for its hardness, durability and tensile strength. BS 6200-3.10.2 specifies a method for the determination of chromium in steels and irons using flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The method applies to non-alloy and low-alloy steels and irons with chromium contents of 0.002 to 2.0 % (m/m) (see Annex).
