EN 196-11:2018 - Overview

EN 196-11:2018 (CEN) defines the apparatus and procedure for determining the heat of hydration of cement and other hydraulic binders by Isothermal Conduction Calorimetry (ICC). The method provides a continuous record of heat release (heat flow versus time) and total heat of hydration up to 7 days, enabling correspondence with the solution and semi-adiabatic methods in EN 196-8 and EN 196-9. The standard is intended for laboratories performing cement testing, research, quality control and product development.
