Specifies the procedure for a radio interference (RI) test carried out in a laboratory on clean and dry insulators at a frequency of 0,5 MHz or 1 MHz or, alternatively, at other frequencies between 0,5 MHz and 2 MHz.
Abstract
Overview
IEC 60437:1997 is an international standard developed by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) that specifies the procedure for conducting radio interference (RI) tests on high-voltage insulators. These tests are performed in laboratory conditions on clean and dry insulators. The standard addresses testing at specific frequencies-0.5 MHz, 1 MHz, or other frequencies between 0.5 MHz and 2 MHz. The goal is to evaluate the insulators' radio noise emissions when subjected to high voltage, ensuring their compliance with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements.
