Overview

IEC 60598-1:2020 - Edition 9.0 - is the international standard for luminaires - general requirements and tests. It defines mandatory requirements and test methods for luminaires incorporating electric light sources for operation from supply voltages up to 1 000 V. This technical revision (9th edition) replaces the 2014 edition and 2017 amendment and updates requirements for classification, marking, mechanical and electrical construction, thermal performance, photobiological safety and more.
