Overview
IEC 61284:1997 is an international standard published by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) that specifies the requirements and tests for fittings used in overhead power lines operating at nominal voltages above 45 kV. While primarily targeted at high-voltage overhead lines, the standard can also be applied to fittings for lower nominal voltage lines and similar fittings used in electrical substations. This second edition from 1997 incorporates the corrigendum from September 1998, ensuring the document reflects the latest technical updates available at that time.
