Overview
IEC 61874:1998 is an international standard that specifies design requirements and performance characteristics for nuclear instrumentation used in geophysical borehole logging to determine bulk rock density, commonly known as density logging. Developed by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Technical Committee 45 on Nuclear Instrumentation, this standard ensures reliable and accurate equipment performance in in situ rock density measurements through the use of gamma-ray scattering.
