ISO 10462:2013 specifies requirements for the periodic inspection of acetylene cylinders as required for the transport of dangerous goods and for maintenance in connection with periodic inspection. It applies to acetylene cylinders with and without solvent and with a maximum nominal water capacity of 150 l.

Valves and safety devices: Inspection of valves and fusible plugs (reference to ISO 22434 for valve maintenance).
Marking, records and rejection: Requirements for cylinder identification, marking of inspection results and dates, record keeping, rendering cylinders unserviceable and disposal procedures.
Annexes: Normative and informative annexes provide detailed procedures for external inspection, top‑clearance measurement, porous material cracking and date‑ring indicators.
