ISO 11692:1994 specifies technical delivery requirements for ferritic‑pearlitic engineering steels supplied as billets and bars intended for hot working and for precipitation hardening from hot‑working temperatures. The standard covers required heat‑treatment conditions on delivery (untreated, treated to improve shearability, precipitation‑hardened), surface conditions (e.g., hot‑worked), chemical composition and mechanical property verification, inspection documentation and marking. It is intended to be used together with the general delivery requirements of ISO 404.

Manufacturing and treatment: All steels must be fully killed. Heat‑treatment conditions on delivery are defined (TU, TS, TP symbols). Surface discontinuity repair by welding is not permitted; other removals require agreement.

Inspection and testing: Sampling and test piece preparation per ISO 377‑1/2; cast and product chemical analyses; Brinell hardness limits where relevant (ISO 6506); ultrasonic testing and other nondestructive checks may be required (Annex A).

Documentation and marking: Inspection documents conform to ISO 10474; marking must allow traceability to cast, steel type and delivery origin.
