This document provides technical guidance for fermentation-based pharmaceutical wastewater treatment and reclamation for different reuse purposes. ISO 12370:2025, "Guidelines for treatment and reuse of fermentation-based pharmaceutical wastewater," provides technical guidance for treating and reclaiming wastewater generated by fermentation-based pharmaceutical production. The standard addresses pollution loading, classification, general treatment principles, applicable wastewater treatment and reclamation technologies, and example process flows to support different treatment conditions and reuse purposes. Prepared by ISO/TC 282 (Water reuse), SC 4, it complements vocabulary and reuse frameworks such as ISO 20670:2023.
