ISO 13503-3:2022 - "Petroleum and natural gas industries - Completion fluids and materials - Part 3: Testing of heavy brines" - specifies test procedures, physical property checks and contaminant limits for heavy brines used in drilling, completion and workover fluids. It supplements API RP 13J (5th ed., 2014) by providing methods better suited to formate brines (sodium, potassium, cesium and their blends), addressing unique issues such as supercooling, metastable crystal phases and non-ideal pH behavior.
