ISO 13955:1997 is an international standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) that specifies the crushing decohesion test for polyethylene (PE) electrofusion assemblies used in plastics pipes and fittings. This standard defines a precise method to evaluate the resistance to decohesion by crushing of electrofusion joints in polyethylene pipes and fittings, which are commonly employed for fluid distribution systems. Applicable to assemblies with nominal outer diameters between 16 mm and 225 mm, ISO 13955:1997 ensures consistent assessment of the mechanical integrity of PE electrofusion assemblies.
