Overview
ISO 20438:2017 - Ships and marine technology - Offshore mooring chains - specifies requirements for the design, manufacture and dimensional control of offshore mooring chains. The standard defines grades, materials, shapes, , and for mooring chain components used to position and moor offshore structures (chain links, enlarged links, end links and shackles). ISO 20438:2017 is aimed at ensuring consistent mechanical performance and interchangeability for chains used in demanding marine environments.
