Overview

ISO 21299:2009 - "Powered ride-on turf care equipment - Roll‑over protective structures (ROPS) - Test procedures and acceptance criteria" - specifies static test procedures and acceptance criteria for ROPS fitted to powered ride‑on turf care machinery with a mass up to 3 000 kg. It applies to ride‑on turf equipment (e.g., lawn and sports‑field machines) and excludes stand‑on/sulky machines and self‑propelled agricultural, forestry or construction tractors.

This standard defines how to simulate overturn loads, measure ROPS performance, and verify that a deflection‑limiting volume (DLV) is preserved to minimize operator crushing injury.
