Overview

ISO 22915-14:2010 - Industrial trucks - Verification of stability - Part 14: Rough-terrain variable-reach trucks - defines tests and verification procedures to assess the static and dynamic stability of rough-terrain variable-reach trucks equipped with fork arms or other load-carrying/non-load-carrying attachments. It excludes trucks designed for freight containers, lifting people or suspended loads. This part is one of the ISO 22915 series that replaced ISO 8379:1998 and is intended for manufacturers, test laboratories and safety assessors.

Five test types (Tests 1–5): Covers longitudinal and lateral stability, travel and stacking/retrieving modes, and specific tests for boom extension/angle (max/min extension at maximum boom angle).

Test loads and lift/reach positions: Tests 1 and 3 use the least stable lift/reach combination with forks parallel to the tilt table; test load centre-of-gravity positioning follows ISO 22915-1.

Lift heights for travel simulation: For travel-related tests, fork upper face height at the fork heel is specified as 300 mm for trucks ≤ 10 t rated capacity and 500 mm for trucks > 10 t.

Stabilizers and axle locking: Where operator-selectable stabilizers or manual axle locking are fitted, tests must be run with these devices both engaged and disengaged. Lateral slope correction (levelling) up to 7% (≈4°) may be applied for specified tests.

Marking and load charts: Any additional capacity determined when stabilizers/chassis levelling are used must be indicated on the truck’s load chart (see informative Annex A).
