Ageing limits for disc facing rings: change in hardness between −5 and +8 Shore A after accelerated ageing (ISO 188).

Mechanical and functional tests

Test methods include operating and closing torque, resistance to increased torque, pressure loss, hydrostatic shell testing, seat and stem sealing, performance at increased hydraulic pressure, and endurance testing. Standard test conditions commonly use water at 23 ± 5 °C.

Marking and sampling

Requirements for marking, type tests and acceptance tests (sampling per ISO 2859‑1) are included to support conformity and quality control.
