ISO 4551:1987 specifies standardized procedures for sampling, sample preparation and sieve analysis of ferroalloys to determine particle size distribution. The standard covers consignments or lots of ferroalloys with particle sizes equal to or greater than 40 µm and sets rules to ensure representative sampling, accurate sieving and reproducible reporting of size fractions.
