Femoral condyles: measurements at contact locations for 0°, 30°, 60° flexion (uni-, bi-, tri-compartmental systems); patellar flange measured at three evenly distributed points where applicable.
Metallic/ceramic tibial components (mobile bearing): six evenly distributed locations for bi/tri systems; three for uni-compartmental.
Plastics tibial components: measure medial and lateral sides (six or three locations depending on compartmentalization); for mobile bearings measure both superior and inferior surfaces; posts measured where present.

Measurement details to report: stylus tip radius and precise measurement positions on the specimen. Measurement direction for plastics should be approximately perpendicular to machining marks.

Visual acceptance: Surfaces must be free from embedded particles, raised edges, scratches and score marks (plastic components may show finishing-process marks).
